Wedding Planning Timeline

You got engaged, now what?

Here are a few suggested things to get started planning for your big day.

  • Determine your budget.

  • Decide preferred season, month date to celebrate, come up with a list of venues and tour and chat about open dates.

  • When you lock down your venue, review menu offerings and plan out how you decide to entertain the guests.

  • Dress shopping - always do this the earlier the better, dresses can take up to months to come in, then you need to alot time for possible alterations.

  • Plan out when to have an engagement party and shower pre-wedding.

  • Choose locations for rehearsal dinner, bridal lunch, ceremony, reception, farewell brunch.

  • Secure Wedding planners if you choose to use one.

  • Contract Officiant, Band, Florist, Photographer.

  • Establish overnight accommodation needs.

  • Meet with the planner and hotel representatives.

  • Schedule tastings to confirm selections.

  • Spa and salon appointments.

  • Confirm event layout and timeline.

  • Invite your guests to share your love at your venue!

  • Confirm guest attendance and accommodations

  • Review celebration timeline.

  • Finalize seating arrangements.

  • Gather any last-minute details and sit back and relax.

Check out the below project plan to help get you started. It's a simple template that can allow you to add dates, keep notes, propose an estimated budget and final budget. (You can add the most, or the least amount of detail you like, obviously there are many more things to add on the left hand column, but it gives you an idea)
