Alright, we are 7 days into the new year. I feel it. I feel the stress, anxiety, overwhelming thoughts of trying to crush my dreams and goals. Wow, when I actually typed the number seven...I just realized it has seriously only been a week into the new year. Why are we always the hardest on ourselves? Why do I feel like I need to accomplish everything in the first month of the new year? I am not totally sure, but I have a theory.
While my mind was racing with the feeling of things piling up...I came across this.
It is amazing how God speaks to us.
So often in life our desire to control our lives, our days, our future creeps in. The thought that we are even powerful enough to control those things is kind of silly. We were never meant to take on all of these things on our own. Our savior leads the way. He controls our steps. Our future is in His hands. all we can do is...Pray about it. Pray about it. Pray about it.
An excerpt from one of my favorite videos, EVER. Whenever I am stressing about things that are totally out of my control, It always calms my mind. I swear kids have it so much more figured out than adults sometimes...
I know it doesn’t always seem that simple, but it can be.
The world is a vast landscape waiting for us to explore and experience fully in the present moment. There is so much to learn, see and do in the short time we have on this earth. But we miss so many wonderful experiences in front of us when we focus so much on the end results. I have realized it’s been beneficial to daily remind myself to think of the task at hand. We can only accomplish things one step at a time. We have a whole lot of life to live and days to experience. Don’t let deadlines and the end game come before celebrating progress in the journey.
In between goal chasing and living out dreams, taking time for oneself is 100% necessary to live with clarity And stay sane. Reading constantly develops your language, creativity, thoughts...Exploring opens your mind...Connecting with people opens your heart and eyes.
Education is not something you can finish.
-- Isaac Asimov
School isn't a requirement to be able to learn. There is something to be learned every single day. There is something to appreciate out of every single day. There are small things to accomplish every day. SO take a deep breathe in and breath out. You're not going anywhere and neither are your dreams and goals. Our lives are more than labels, our lives are more than what others say they are, no one knows what our future holds except for our creator. People on earth can not cancel what God has called on our lives.
A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.
-- Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
